Cyberknife Inauguration
Alhamdulillah!
With the help and blessings of Allah Almighty, Pakistan’s 2nd Cyberknife Robotic Radio Surgery System has been inaugurated at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital on 7th March, 2022. This is perhaps the biggest mile stone achieved by any hospital in the history of Pakistan s health sector. Prof. Dr. Amer Aziz Chairman, Mr. Mohsin Bilal, Madam Samina Khalid Ghurki, Mian Muhammad Saeed (Daray Walay), Ch. Muhammad Shakeel, Mr. Omer Farooq Sheikh (Founder of Cyberknife), Mr. Rafeeq Ghurki, Mr. Shahid Afzal Khokhar, Mr. Muhammad Yousaf Ameen, Ch. Muhammad Ashraf, Mr. Imran Mukhtar Ch., Mr. Asif Iqbal Ghurki, Mr. Muhammad Naeem Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Khurram Ijaz Medical Director, Mr. Atif Khan Marketing Consultant, Prof. Naeem Ahmed, Prof. Shehzad Javed, Prof. Rizwan Akram, Prof. Ijaz Ahmed, Prof. Attiq Uz Zaman, Assistant Medical Director, Deputy Medical Directors, Paramedical Staff, Senior Management and Ghurki Hospital’s respected donors participated in the inauguration ceremony. The event started with the recitation of Holy Quran and hosted by, Mr. Taufeeq Butt, a renowned columnist. Chairman Ghurki hospital, Prof. Dr. Amer Aziz addressed the audience about Cyberknife and its technology. He said that Cyberknife is Punjab’s Frist and Pakistan’s 2nd Robot and can treat any type of cancerous and noncancerous tumor with radiations with the success rate of 99%. Dr. Tariq CEO Cyberknife unit Karachi also addressed and said that he was pleasantly surprised the way the Cyberknife unit in Ghurki Hospital was activated without the physical presence of manufacturers’ representatives. It has never been done anywhere in the world. He also assured that they will provide all sort of help to Ghurki Hospital in running the Cyberknife. Many honorable guests included Mr. Nadeem Babar, Mian Talat of Orient group, Mr. Ch.Shoukat of Fast cables also graced the event.
Furthermore, Health Minister of Punjab, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid joined the event through a video link and congratulated to Prof. Dr. Amer Aziz and his whole team for the installation of Punjab’s first and Pakistan’s 2nd Cyberknife. She really admired the work done by Ghurki Hospital for Pakistan’s health sector.
At the end of this event souvenir were presented to guest and participants, and all Member Board of Trustees (MBOT’s) and guests participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony.
