The Department of Pharmacy Services, GTTH primarily comprises of four core sections: Outpatient pharmacy (OPD), In-patient pharmacy (IPD), Clinical pharmacy, Store and Procurement.  The Department of Pharmacy Services aims to optimize patient care and improve patient quality of life with the provision of quality and cost effective medicines / Health aids and advance Pharmaceutical Patient care / Medication Management Use services.  GTTH Pharmacy initiated its services in January 2015, after joint efforts of Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital and Lahore Pharmacy College, Lahore Medical and Dental College Lahore. The Department of Pharmacy Services acknowledge with gratitude the technical consultation services of Dr. Muhammad Tahir Aziz, Ex Associate Director Pharmacy and Ambulatory Services, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Center (SKMCH & RC) Lahore, Chief Operating Officer, SKMCH & RC Peshawar, provided throughout this project.

 A generic version of widely used medications, approved by Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee (P & TC) is formulated to ensure safe, cost effective and rational use of medications. Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) has become an integral part of health care. It is linked to the health informatics that focuses mainly on the clinical functioning of hospitals including medication use and administrative services. Hospital Pharmacy is providing its services through this same online HMIS to the outpatients / ambulatory and admitted patients.

Hospital Pharmacy provides clinically oriented care on a level meeting the needs of the hospital, in direct cooperation with the other experts of multidisciplinary clinical team. Clinical Pharmacist actively participate in this collaborative drug therapy management by reviewing patient history and medication chart regarding indication, dose, interactions, administration, therapeutic duplication, IV to oral switch etc. Department of Pharmacy Services is also involved in teaching and training of the pharmacy under-graduates and graduates. Hospital Pharmacy staff also participate as adjunct faculty to teach a part of hospital and clinical pharmacy course to 4th and 5th Year students of Lahore Pharmacy College.
