“A three-week workshop on Scoliosis Surgery was conducted at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital in collaboration with A-O spine led by Associate Professor Dr. Abdullah Shah. For the first time in Pakistan, Magnetic Expansion Rods (Magic Rods) have been inserted to straighten the spine. As child grow older, the magic rod grows as well with child’s age. The cost of one rod is Rs. 1.3 – 1.4 million while 13 rods have been given free of cost to 13 patients in Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital.”
